Candy DNA

Materials:

• Twizzlers or similar rope candy

• Dots or similar multicolored soft candy

• toothpicks

Instructions:

1. Choose 4 different Dot candy colors

2. Sort colors

3. Assign 4 colors to the following bases (A,T,C,G)

4. Grab a toothpick and create base pairs.

   1. A pairs with T​

   2. C pairs with G

5. Arrange pairs in any order​

6. Stick pairs into the Twizzlers

7. Twist to make spiral look (double helix)
